How do I save a property?

Tap the ♥ Save button on any listing. You'll need a free account first; if you're not signed in, the button becomes Sign in to save.

How do I get alerts when new properties match my search?

Use Save search after running a query — your criteria are stored against your account. Email alerts activate once you confirm your email at sign-up.

What's a property chain?

A chain is the sequence of property transactions that depend on each other (your sale depends on your buyer's, which depends on theirs, and so on). My Proper Home tracks each property's buyer + seller, their task progress, and how each side is feeling — so you can see where the chain is stuck.

Selling & listing

How do I list a property?

Create an account → My Properties Add property. You'll set the type, price, status (On the Market / To Let / Completed), photos and key facts. Once status is set to On the Market or To Let, the listing appears in public search.

How are sold prices populated?

On every property detail page we pull the HM Land Registry Price Paid record for the address (free, public data, transactions since 1995 in England & Wales). Pre-1995 sales and Scottish / Northern Irish properties don't appear.

Landlords

How do I become a landlord?

Create a landlord account. The signup flow puts you on the Upgrade account form where you submit a request to be added to the Landlords group; an admin reviews every elevation. After approval, sign out and back in to refresh your access token.

Where does my landlord data live?

For now: in your browser's localStorage on the device you entered it on, plus S3 for uploaded receipts / certificates / documents. Cross-device sync activates once the matching backend schema is deployed.

How does the tenant invite code work?

When you save a tenancy, we generate a short code like 8K3J-LM4P. Share the "tenant link" from the tenancy row — when your tenant signs up and opens the link, they enter the code on /tenant and we link their account to your tenancy record.

Account & data

How do I delete my account?

Sign in → Profile Danger zone → Delete account. This removes your sign-in immediately and queues your property and chain data for permanent deletion.

I forgot my password.

From the sign-in page, tap Forgotten password. We'll email a six-digit reset code to the address on your account.

What if my role isn't reflected after an upgrade?

Sign out and sign back in. Your session caches your group memberships, so a fresh sign-in pulls the latest claims.
